Lidia Perez owns a small bookstore in the Mexican city of Acapulco, where he lives with her husband Sebastian, a journalist, and an eight -year -old son Luke. After the publication
in the newspaper the material prepared by Sebastian, exposing the local drug cartel, bandits arrange a bloody massacre, in which all relatives and friends of Lydia are killed - sixteen people. Only she and Luke remain alive. Realizing that hunting has been declared for them, mother and son are fleeing from Acapulco. Saving their lives, they go to the north, to the border with the United States. And they soon understand that the nightmare they have experienced is only the beginning: the road to a new life will require truly inhuman efforts from them
