Chichagova (1767-1849) The son of the famous naval commander of the Catherine’s times, Pavel Vasilievich entered the history of our country as the first marine minister of Russia, a visionary statesman and a talented military leader, glorifying the Fatherland with brilliant victories at sea and land. It was his army that inflicted a crushing defeat on Berezin, which was the victorious crown of the Patriotic War of 1812, Napoleonic army. He fiercely loved Russia and served her diligently and disinterestedly. However, the circumstances of his life and activity developed in such a way that this true patriot of Russia turned out to be a victim of intrigues and a bargaining card in someone else"s dishonest game.
