Alexander Pavlovich Chudakov (1938-2005)-a famous philologist, researcher of Russian literature, writer. In 2011, his historical and philosophical novel “lays a haze on the old steps ...” (2000) received the “Russian Bouquer "award as the best novel of the decade.
In the center of the scientific interests of Chudakov was the work of A.P. Chekhov. His books" Poetics of Chekhov "(M., 1971) and" The world of Chekhov. The emergence and statement (M., 1986), in which a description of the writer’s art world as an integral system was given, became milestones in the history of the domestic case and largely determined its further direction.
The published work reveals another side of Chudakov’s activity.
For 40 years, he studied the press of the end of the twentieth - beginning of the twentieth centuries, fixing everything that was written about Chekhov during his life. He was fascinated by the grandiose task of creating a complete
Bibliography of these materials. He did not have time to finish this work. But even in this-incomplete-form she makes a great contribution to science and covers the name of its creator in a new way
