The collection includes articles and materials that comprehensively cover Chekhov’s views on literary and theatral criticism, as well as little-known critical statements about Chekhov in modern journal and newspaper periodicals. The section, traditional for the Skatym readings series, is dedicated to the manuscript heritage of A.P. Skinnymov. Along with analytical articles, a number of texts of critical notes and reviews about dramaturgy and Chekhov prose are published. For the first time, the correspondence of A. B. Derman with A. G. Gornfeld on the Chekhov theme is introduced into the scientific circulation. Especially for this issue, a translation of the story about the Chekhov of Mayler Wilkinson “slave blood”, recognized by the best short story of Canada in 2014, was prepared
