A cheerful and honest, compassionate and witty story in one impossible week that happened in Hank Devero"s life. With reluctance and against his own nature, William Henry Devyero Jr., preferred to be the name of Hank, leads the English department in a shitty college somewhere in the rusty belt of Pennsylvania. Hank himself by kind of observer and anarchist, but the department is rapidly falling apart even without his effort. Within a week, Hank has to go through a lot of tests and even disasters. The furious colleague will break his nose, the graduate student will try to seduce him, on local TV he will be accused of execution of the goose, his own father will come with the desire to reconcile forever, and some functions of the body will suddenly declare a strike. A sad and funny novel about academic losers, about freedom-freebod and just about good people
