The present book covers questions of organization and content of military (defense) work with pioneers and schoolchildren in the years 1927-1941 based on extensive factual material. The aspects of interaction between general educational institutions and the children's public (pioneer) organization in the work of military-patriotic education of children and adolescents are examined. Significant attention is paid to the playful component of defense work with children in the pre-war years. The publication is illustrated with photographs from the archives of the Museum of the History of the Children's Movement of the State Budgetary Professional Educational Institution "Vorobyovy Gory".
