The book discusses the history of the armed resistance of part of the population with a new political order in the Balkans after the end of World War II. The work is preceded by a detailed chapter on hostilities in the region, which served as a prologue for subsequent events. In the post -war period in Yugoslavia, Romania, Albania and Bulgaria, anti -communists became the rebels, and the local Communist Party began in Greece. A significant role in the strengthening of the rebel was played by the activities of the West in the pro -Soviet territories, as well as the activities of the USSR and allies in Greece. The tactics of rebels and methods of combating them, used by the authorities, are very important for studying the history of partisan tactics.
