In September 1955, the construction of the first Soviet atomic submarine began in the Soviet Union. In March 1959, "K-3" ("Lenin Komsomol") was part of the Soviet Navy. In July 1962, for the first time in the history of the USSR, she made a long campaign under the ice of the Arctic Ocean, during which the point of the North Pole was twice.
