This book, first published in 1972 among Russian emigrants in the United States, contains the memoirs of Colonel V.V. Pozdnyakov and other propagandists of the ROA, as well as some training materials of the courses. The book consists of the memoirs of people who passed all the horrors of war and captivity, lost faith in the Soviet system and did not feel illusions about the intentions of the German command. Descriptions of weekdays of camp life against the backdrop of the iconic events of the Second World War and personal experience give an answer to the question of what moved people, contrary to their own doubts and German propaganda who entered the ranks of the ROA and considered themselves the Vlasovs until the end of their days
