Having entered into service in June 1905, Glory, the only armored personnel of his type, did not take part in the Russian-Japanese war and immediately became obsolete, as a result of which the ship was attributed to a separate educational squadron. In December 1908, the battleship crew took part in a rescue operation in the Sicilian city of Messin, who suffered from the strongest earthquake.
After the outbreak of the First World War, Glory became part of the squadron of the battleships of the Baltic Fleet and in 1915 took part in the defense of the Gulf of Riga.
On October 17, 1917, the battleships "Glory", "Citizen" (former "Tsesarevich") and the armored cruiser "Bayan" in the area of the Moonzund Islands entered the battle with the German battleships "König" and "Kronprints", which covered the minesweepers. At 11 o’clock 58 minutes, Glory received severe damage to the crew, after which the 12-inch tower cellar was blown up and the destroying destroyers were held, as a result of which the ship lay on the ground
