Notes on the campaigns of 1812 and 1813, from the Battle of Tarutino to the Battle of Kulm

The book “Notes about campaigns ...” was first published in 1834 without instructing the author. The notes belonged to the officer Vasily Sergeyevich Norov (1793-1853), a participant in the Patriotic War of 1812 and the foreign campaigns of the Russian army of 1812-1813, and the cavalier of several orders. In 1825, V. S. Norov, as the Decembrist, was deprived of the nobility and ranks, sentenced to imprisonment and wrote his work while in the fortress. Memories immediately attracted the attention of the reading public with the objectivity of the story about events, an unbiased approach to the mistakes of the French and Russian command.
