Determining the place of manufacture of a sample of weapons is an important part of the work on its attribution. The source of information about the manufacturer of the weapon, as well as about its other properties, is usually the stigma on it in the form of inscriptions and (or) special signs, including Simpular. A large number of such signs and designations are made, a significant part of which still does not have the correct decoding. To an even lesser extent than the signs of weapons manufacturers, modern researchers know the signs of enterprises for its repair. Until recently, the value of these signs and even their very purpose (not only decryption) were unknown to most researchers. In the course of work on the preparation of this publication, the author identified, systematized and deciphered a large number of signs and designations of enterprises-manufacturers of weapons, other designations on it, as well as conditional signs of the repair bodies of weapons. The sections of the determinant are accompanied by a brief outline of the development of the relevant industry for the study period. The appointment of this part of the work is to report the features of historical events to the reader, against the background of which it was necessary to operate and develop weapons and its repair systems, which directly influenced the process of developing labeling on weapons. The determinant divisions are completed by a set of applications that contain graphic images of factory conventional signs and Signs of weapons repair enterprises, photographs of factory inscriptions and their elements, as well as samples of small arms produced in Russia and the USSR in the study period. The maintenance base of the study is a collection of small arms and devices from the collection of the military-historical museum of artillery, engineering and communications troops (Saint Petersburg) The determinant contains a large number of color and graphic illustrations, which make it possible to carry out the most correct attribution of the place and time of manufacturing and repair of small arms. The publication is addressed to researchers of the history of Russian and Soviet small arms, employees of museums of military-technical, military-historical and local history profiles, as well as collectors
