The purpose of his book, Lieutenant General Modest Ivanovich Bogdanovich (1805–1882) set the creation of a reliable picture of Russia"s participation in the 1813 campaign and a show of its role in the balance of power in Europe and in the final victory of the forces of the Allies, since political and military events described in foreign publications , were not full and historically reliable. Paying tribute to German historical literature, the author carefully wrote in the preface: “But, with all the dignity of German works, many of them are visible in the desire to hide the importance of the influence of Russians in the liberation of Germany.” The Russian troops all over 1813 endured the greatest hardships of military failures on their shoulders and were the main cementing beginning, which allowed to achieve high -profile victories. The Russians made up the backbone of all four armies of the allies, and the activities of Russian diplomacy (primarily Emperor Alexander I) contributed from the very beginning the creation, and then the rallying and expanding the forces of the coalition. The conclusions that can be made when reading unequivocally talked about the huge and key role of Russia in 1813, in particular in the liberation of all of Germany from Napoleonic domination
