The publication is dedicated to a collection of foreign submachine guns in the collection of the Military-Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineering and Communications, reflecting the process of creating and developing automatic weapons for a pistol cartridge throughout the twentieth century. A significant part of this weapon collection was formed in the 1940s in the second half of the twentieth century.
The volume of the collection published in the publication is significant: 275 machine guns and about 150 units of accessories to them from 25 countries.
