Yuri Vasilievich Bondarev (b. 1924) is a wonderful master who writes on the basis of his own military experience. The writer said about his generation: We learned to hate fake, cowardice, lies, the elusive look of a scoundrel, talking to you with a pleasant smile, indifference, from which one step to betrayal. The so -called lieutenant prose (which relate with full right and the works of Yu.V. Bondarev) allows us to feel that it is behind the dry amounts of losses, to understand how people live and die at the front.
In the center of the story, “Battalions are asked for fire” - the situation when the plan of the offensive operation and units that crossed the Dnieper changed without fire support, actually doomed to death, but stood to the end - distracting the enemy’s attention, delaying his strength ... The novel “The Last Flip” tells about the events that took place at the end of the war in Poland.
Both works were filmed
