From time immemorial, the axes have been divided into combat and workers, since the specifics of their application are significantly different. This imposes different requirements for their shape and their design. One thing is weapons, and another is a tool. We only consider tools.
The book describes the history of the working axes, and in relation to the ax, the theory of mechanics of manual impact tools, which has been forgotten since the thirties of the last century, is revived. In practice, the laws of the ax were open not yesterday, but many centuries ago, but only in the twentieth century, thanks to theoretical mechanics, they gained clear formulations.
individual chapters are devoted specifically to a carpentry, logging, hiking ax, etc. Other sections describe the industrial manufacture of axes, their finalization at home, as well as assembly secrets that exclude the shaving of the ax during operation.
The book is addressed to travelers, hunters, carpenters and masters for all their hands.
