The battle for the Crimea, which lasted with interruptions for two and a half years, stands apart in the history of World War II. Both warring parties, or rather their leaders - Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin - attached extremely important importance to this peninsula. The first fanatically tried to keep him, even when the Eastern Front literally cracked at the seams, and its southern flank rolled away far to the west, the second gave the release of Crimea the most priority significance. As a result, the liberation of the “All -Union health resort” stretched for six months and turned into a protracted exhausting battle, into which large forces of the ground forces and fleets of both sides were drawn. And in the sky one of the longest and fierce air battles was played, which was not interrupted either day, nor at night, nor in bad weather. The Crimean epic ended with an incredible in the drama and intensity of events with the final: a swift throw of the Red Army to Sevastopol and a desperate attempt by the enemy to take his troops to Romania.
In this book, on the basis of domestic and German archival documents and other sources, the first time was told about the air battle for Crimea, which continued from November 1, 1943 to May 12, 1944, in which many famous Soviet and German aces participated
