The first block of articles is devoted to the formation of the most important institutions of the Catholic Church, which will be destined to play a large role in the history of the Middle Ages: the material of the late empire considers the formation of the cult of saints and forms of hagiographic legends, and the early Christian background of the institution of papal legates is also considered. As in previous numbers, much attention is paid to the coverage of specific options for dialogue between power and society. A special role in Paris both as a capital and as a locus of power manifested itself during the dramatic events of 1356-1358. The specifics of the imperial land management is revealed on the example of the policy of Emperor Sigismund with the help of the concept of "openness" of territories developed in German historiography.
