The book talks about the fantastic history of one of the oldest Moscow hotels. Without becoming an opera theater, as Savva Mamontov, "Metropol" turned into a real open-air museum, where the bas-reliefs of Nikolai Andreeva and Quotes from Friedrich Nietzsche are adjusted with Mikhail Mikhail Vrubel. Dramatic events (the arrest of the founder of the hotel, the fire of an almost complete building in 1901, the art-rider of 1917) did not prevent him from being the most prestigious hotel of Soviet Moscow. To, becoming a truly urban legend, remain it today. Text material is a beautiful artistic narration, in combination with an unpublished previously archive information. The book will be interested in reading, both simple orders and dedicated. The publication contains a large number of unpublished previously historical photographs from private collections
