The modern structure of engineering and geological knowledge is considered. The regional section has been allocated and its methodological bases are analyzed. The purpose and objectives of regional engineering and geological studies are determined. The features of the sign language are considered. The implementation of the tasks is justified on the basis of a systematic approach and regulation procedures. Specific examples of regional engineering and geological analysis at various levels of structuring are considered. The problems of evolution of the geological environment are discussed. It is intended for undergraduate students, magistrates and specialty in the group of areas “Applied geology, mining, oil and gas business and geodesy”, including for specializations “Searching and exploration of groundwater and engineering and geological surveys”, “Landing and cadasters” and for students educational institutions of secondary vocational education in the direction of land-property relations in the development of academic disciplines of regional content. It can be useful to specialists of geological and geographical profile, students of advanced training institutions and employees of design and survey organizations specializing in regional research
