The book is devoted to the key to understanding European culture to the process - awareness of the man of mediating activity of thought and subsequent metamorphosis of this awareness. The fundamental moment of this activity of the mind was his openness to his subject as a different thought. The openness of the mind also changed significantly in the history of culture. It is the awareness of the openness to another as the source of its own - openness inherent in culture as such, is a characteristic feature of European culture from antiquity to the modern era and underlies the European type of cultural continuity implemented at the institutions of education. The book examines how the European Rass crisis shows itself in the problems of modern culture, especially education, as well as ways to resolve these problems on the basis of awareness of the fundamental nature of understanding of the mind as openness to other European culture
