The textbook is written from the standpoint of a cognitive approach and is devoted to the problem of mental, or mental images. Briefly, but systematically and at the present level highlights different aspects of the psychology of images: the experience of images, figurative representation, imagery of one or another stimulation, image as a way of organizing activities. Considerable attention is paid to the methods of research and diagnosis of human-shaped sphere, as well as brain mechanisms associated with the ability to generate images. This manual greatly fills the gap in the psychological literature available to the domestic reader and will be useful not only to psychologists - students, graduate students and scientists, but also to all those who are interested in the mechanisms and patterns of human cognitive activity.
