The anniversary dates of the recent years are the millennium of the Baptism of Russia, the two-year-old Christianity and the end of the 20th century - add us to reflections on the meaning of history, about historical and metatistoric memory. Forget that from God, it is impossible. Do not desire to know and remember - it means not to draw conclusions, not to change your life, do not be able to repent, and therefore, do not have the strength to go ahead. We are associated with many generations who lived before us, and should feel responsible for being after us. In this sense, the conversation about the memory, going into a conversation about the tradition, is always relevant. He took place at the 10th International Scientific and Theological Conference "Memory and Neutenty in the Church and Society: the results of the XX century" (Moscow, September 18-20, 2000), organized by the Holy Philaret Moscow Higher Orthodox Christian School, the magazine "Bulletin RHD, the Institute of Russian RAS and the Russian State Humanitarian University. It was attended by about 600 people from 28 cities and 11 countries, including 14 priests, members of the Russian, American, Polish, Finnish Orthodox churches, the Old Believers Church, Catholics, Greek Catholics, Protestants, as well as representatives of more than 25 institutions - academic Institutions, universities and organizations of a charitable and educational nature
