The museum was opened in 2002 by the 95th birthday of N.P. Dubinin - an outstanding scientist and genetics. His first steps in science coincided with the beginning of the first serious genetic studies. Soon his work was highly appreciated by domestic and foreign scientists. In 1957, a decade after the sad "famous" session of Vaskhnil 1948, Academician M.A. Lavrentiev invited Nikolai Petrovich to take part in the construction of Akademgorodok in Novosibirsk. N.P. Dubinin became the founder and director of the Institute of Cytology and Genetics with the USSR Academy of Sciences (1957-1960) Later, N.P. Dubinin founded the Institute of General Genetics (Jogen) of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Moscow and worked it as the director from 1966 to 1981.
The museum is occupied by the scientist’s office in Jogen in Moscow
