Vladimir Benediktovich Stankevich was a professional lawyer, politician, and close associate of A.F. Kerensky. During the First World War, he served in the army as a junior officer. However, his rank did not prevent him from rising to a high position during the February Revolution - he was first elected to the Executive Committee of the Council of Workers' and Soldiers' Deputies, and with Kerensky's appointment as Minister of War in the Provisional Government, he was appointed as the commissar of the Northern Front, and later of the Supreme Commander's Headquarters.
The story of a man who was involved in great historical events - revolutions, wars, etc. - and personally knew those whose names are found in textbooks, sheds new light on the past.
