The term "Middle Ages" is used for a period of time from the fall of the Western Roman Empire (476) before the opening of America (1492) These thousand years were originally marked by barbaric invasions and collapse of civil institutions. Then the sacred Roman Empire, Kingdom and, in Itaty, city-states were formed. Dark and alarming atmosphere, which is transmitted from generation to generation through romantic medieval literature, can only be attributed to early Middle Ages.
Later, the Middle Ages has a brighter aspect marked by the revival of art, philosophy and science. This second period and inspired Guido Zibordi (GUIDO ZIBORDI) to draw medieval tarot. These 78 cards contain recalls of the magnificence of princely courtyards and intrigues of the court, battles and cross campaigns, studies of single philosophers and discussions of theologians, daily work and beliefs of ordinary people.
This, however, is not a sentimental or historic deck. On the contrary, the medieval tarot contains the Spirit of Ars Memorandi, the knowledge system of esoteric schools aimed at the development of intellectual qualities and spiritual virtues. Ars Memorandi, who attached an extreme importance of images, no doubt, shows the source of the first Tarot deck, the "Wordless Book", who taught the rules of the true nobility of the mind and soul.
Today, as in the past, these simple, but deep rules will allow everyone to follow the path of improvement and achieve the upper part of the invisible staircase, where the material world is found with spiritual
