In the literature, there is a lot of data on glaucoma therapy, and the conclusions of individual studies are often significantly different from each other. Even a meta-analysis that summarizes the results of several studies, sometimes does not allow to make unambiguous conclusions from the point of view of evidence-based medicine. This monograph summarizes various opinions expressed by the leading glaucomatologists of the world, and, most importantly, their agreed recommendations on the medication treatment of glaucoma in various clinical situations. It is very important that this work does not contain templates and protocols, but enables the doctor to make independent decisions, comparing its own observations with the experience gained by the international community. The provisions of the consensus contain recommendations on glaucoma therapy taking into account the concomitant pathology and the rate of progression of the disease (including methods for determining the target WGD) In order to facilitate the doctor the choice of medicines, a detailed analysis of the main groups of drugs, their advantages and deficiencies in the treatment of glaucoma. All methods have been discussed in detail that ever studied as possible conservative glaucoma treatment, including the use of the most modern and promising drugs. Individual chapters are devoted to therapy of glaucoma in pregnant women and in childhood. Aspects of the interaction of the doctor and the patient and ways to increase the patient"s commitment to the prescribed treatment are discussed.
