The fifth edition of the textbook “Medical Parasitology” is published after a large break (the fourth in 1991) in radical processing, taking into account the latest data, as well as official and methodological materials of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. A brief description of biology and pathogenic value of the main parasites and human diseases is given. The methods of laboratory diagnostics of parasites and parasitosis are described, the basics of the laboratory for the parasitological examination of patients, the population and environmental factors are highlighted. A large number of drawings, photographs and comparative tables, as well as situational tasks and exercises are given.
The author (parasitologist of the highest category, candidate of medical sciences) was taken into account personal, more than 40-year, experience of the head of the parasitological department of the regional sanitary and epidemiological station and teacher of the subject “Laboratory diagnostics of parasitic diseases” at the department of clinical laboratory assistants of the regional medical school.
The textbook is intended for students of medical colleges studying in the specialty Laboratory Diagnostics
