The publication was prepared by employees of the departments of microbiology, virology and immunology of the First Moscow State Medical University named after IMSShenov, Russian National Research University named after N.I. Pirogov, Moscow State Medical and Dental University named after A.I. Evdokimov, St. Petersburg State Business Medical University named after I.P. Pavlov. Military Medical Academy named after S.M. Kirov. Orenburg State Medical Academy. Rostov State Medical University, Omsk State Medical Academy, Volgograd State Medical Academy, Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy.
The textbook consists of two volumes (20 chapters), in which issues of general and private microbiology, virology and immunology are versed.
Theoretical material is illustrated by tables and drawings. The second volume consists of 6 chapters (chap. 15-20) They set out the basic principles of microbiological diagnostics and private microbiology. In addition to the properties of pathogens, the features of epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, specific treatment and prevention of diseases they cause are presented. Chapter 20 is devoted to clinical microbiology.
A compact disc is attached to the publication. It presents additional information on the main chapters of the textbook (chap. 4, 8, 15-17), as well as materials on sanitary microbiology for students of medical and preventive faculties of medical universities.
The textbook is written in accordance with the officially approved teaching program and is intended for students of medical, pediatric and medical and preventive faculties of medical universities
