A textbook prepared by employees of the department of hospital therapeutic dentistry and related departments of MGMSU. It consists of three parts representing the main sections of therapeutic dentistry: part 1 - "tooth diseases", part 2 - "periodontal disease", part 3 - "diseases of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity". The textbook is written taking into account modern psychological and pedagogical principles and is fundamentally different from other publications in the form of presentation of theoretical and illustrative material, which greatly facilitates the assimilation of the material. It describes the latest achievements of therapeutic dentistry. "Periodontal disease" is the second part of the textbook "therapeutic dentistry". It included modern ideas about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients with periodontal pathology. For the first time in such publications, the textbook sets out the principles of treatment, the issues of medical tactics at the stages of treatment are discussed in detail, and the content of each stage is consistently disclosed. In an affordable form, problems associated with pathogenesis and pathomorphology of destructive changes in periodontal are presented. Detailed and convenient for studying the characteristics of the symptoms of diseases are consistently considered diagnostic measures and criteria for differential diagnosis. The clinical picture of diseases is given in the sequence of stages of examination of the patient, which simplifies understanding and systematizes knowledge in the learning process. The treatment of individual nosological forms is presented in accordance with the stages of the course of diseases and is presented in the sequence of their implementation.
The second part of the textbook is illustrated by 236 color photographs that simplify the understanding of many complex problems of periodontology.
