This publication is essentially a national guidance for doctors in the Russian Federation by formulating a forensic medical/pathological diagnosis, choosing and encoding the causes of death in accordance with the requirements of the ICD-10, as well as for the design of a medical certificate of death (MSS) in order to improve the statistics of mortality rate population.
The manual contains unified rules for the wording of the forensic medical /pathological diagnosis, the selection and coding of the causes of death, the design of the MSU in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Law of November 21, 2011 No. 323-ФЗ “On the Basics of Protection of Citizens" Health in the Russian Federation” , with the requirements of the ICD-10, as well as with orders and methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Health of Russia, clinical and methodological recommendations of the Russian Society of Pathologists and the Association of Forensic Medical Experts.
Samples of the formulations of forensic medical and pathological diagnoses and the design of the MSU are given. Nosological formulations of diagnoses containing information necessary for coding in accordance with the requirements of the ICD-10 are highlighted in a semi-fat font, which is not required when making diagnoses in medical documentation.
The management is intended for doctors to forensic experts, pathologists and clinicians of various specialties, medical statistics specialists, students of medical universities of senior courses, and can also be useful for the main specialists of healthcare bodies, and heads of medical organizations
