The monograph consists of two parts. In the first part of its family problems and marital relations are represented in a historical context: the features of the family at different stages of Russian history are considered - in the pre -Soviet period, during the years of post -revolutionary transformations of society, into Soviet and post -Soviet periods. In the second part, empirical, various aspects of marital relations are highlighted as the main factor stabilizing or destabilizing the family
