According to world statistics, the sepsis occupies a leading place in the structure of the mortality of resuscitation patients. In the XXI century. This life-burning condition is still called mysterious. Modern clinics have a huge arsenal of antimicrobial drugs, but sepsis continues to take the lives of patients. An intensive study of the inflammatory cascade, studies in the field of genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics have not yet been crowned with the creation of breakthrough technologies in the treatment of sepsis.
This is the first monograph that postulates the expediency of a metabolon approach to the problem. The authors focus on the roles of low molecular weight metabolites of microbial origin in the development of sepsis, organ dysfunctions and septic shock. Based on the results of long -term clinical and experimental studies, it was found that aromatic microbial metabolites of a certain chemical structure are pathogenetically related to sepsis, showing signal functions and participating in the mechanisms of tanatogenesis.
The purpose of the monograph not only to present scientific evidence, but also to adapt the new theoretical knowledge to clinical practice as much as possible. On the basis of key aromatic metabolites, integral indicators, new criteria for assessing the forecast, the severity of the state, and the adequacy of antibiotic therapy have been developed, promising directions in the treatment of sepsis are proposed.
