Reprint from the publication. SPb., 1883. Dmitriev Vladimir Nikolaevich (1838 - 1904) - Russian doctor, climatologist and pioneer of viticulture, public figure. He served in the Russian Imperial Fleet with a ship doctor. Having retired, Dmitriev returned to Moscow and entered the clinic of S.P. Botkin. By 1867, his health worsened and, on the recommendation of S.P. Botkin, he moved to Yalta. Dmitriev proved to the medical public that the southern coast of Crimea according to climatic conditions is no worse than Mediterranean resorts (Nice) In 1894, he became at the head of excursion work on the southern coast of Crimea.
