The leadership is devoted to the issues of pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension. Modern diagnostic methods for evaluating pulmonary hypertension, such as catheterization of the right heart of the heart, echocardiography, and image-diagnostic methods, are described in detail. Separate chapters are devoted to various forms of pulmonary hypertension - idiopathic, chronic thromboembolic, against the background of respiratory diseases of the lungs. Data on new methods of treating pulmonary hypertension, including modern drugs and surgical methods, including lung transplantation, are given.
The second edition is significantly different from the previous one - it includes new chapters about pulmonary hypertension in patients with systemic diseases of connective tissue, diseases of the left heart, sarcoidosis, in pregnant women. In addition, information on new diagnostic (biomarkers) and therapeutic (new classes of drugs, combined therapy) approaches to pulmonary hypertension are presented.
