The work presented to readers continues the series of works of the author’s collective, devoted to the analysis of urgent problems of modern psychosomatic medicine. The work reveals complex psychosomatic dependencies that characterize not only mental disorders directly related to somatic pathology, but also formed in the bodily sphere outside such a connection. The augmented and recycled monograph discusses the problems of psychosomatics that remained outside the framework of previous publications of the book. The book includes for the first time a separate chapter, expanding and deepening the ideas about the psychopathological structure and dynamics of mental disorders in a dermatological clinic. This section introduces readers to a fundamentally new author"s model of mental pathology, limited by the space of the skin, and the relevant solution of the problems of timely diagnosis and therapy. Information on epidemiology of psychosomatic disorders in general medicine is supplemented by data in the pulmonological and rheumatological clinic. In a chapter on psychopathology and clinical systematics of psychosomatic disorders, the differentiation of schizotypic hypochondriacs is clarified and a characteristic of reactions occurring with the phenomena of aberrant hypochondria is also expanded, a characteristic of nosogenic paranoid reactions is also expanded. In the section on depression observed in general medicine, a clinical description of somatoreactive cyclotimia is included, interpreted as a hypertypic version of the hypothymic conditions with rhythm borrowed in somatic pathology.
