In the last 10-15 years, interest in psychology and, accordingly, in psychological education has clearly increased in our country. This contributed to the emergence and development of new forms of training, which differs significantly from traditional, classical methods. In particular, on the basis of higher psychological education (humanitarian, natural scientific, medical, technical, etc), retraining cycles, advanced training, and accelerated second higher education are functioning. The existing educational literature, especially in natural-biological disciplines, is not always adequate for such forms of training, which puts students in a difficult situation. Based on a great experience accumulated at the Faculty of Psychology of St. Petersburg State University, in Vmed them. CM. Kirova, at St. Petersburg Public, the authors presented a textbook on psychophysiology in accordance with the plans for the preparation of these forms of training, accessible to all categories of students. These considerations explain the structure of the publication dedicated to the morphofunctional characteristics of the nervous system, the physiology of sensory systems, the physiology of higher nervous (mental) activity and modern methods of research in psychophysiology.
