The purpose of the publication is the formation of professional observation among future specialists in the field of special and clinical psychology, psychiatry. The characteristics of positive and negative psychopathological syndromes are given. The conditions of dementia are considered, classified due to the occurrence, severity, nosological affiliation. Psychoses, depressive states, borderline mental disorders, disorders arising from the use of psychoactive substances (narcological diseases) are highlighted.
