The book contains reliable and outlined language information about mental illness. Traditional myths about the incurability, danger and unpredictability of the behavior of the mentally ill are debunked. Clear examples show that, despite the peculiarity of symptoms, the main features of mental illness are exactly the same as that of “ordinary” diseases - they are mild and serious, acute and chronic, which occur continuously or with exacerbations and bonds. The problem of protecting the rights of patients and interests of society is discussed. It is argued that the multiplication of knowledge about mental disorders and psychiatry will improve the quality of life both "consumers of psychiatric care and society as a whole
