Venous thromboembolic complications (VTEO) are one of the leading causes of maternal incidence and mortality around the world. The book sets out basic information about the physiology of the hemostasis system and etiopathogenesis of VTEO. The data of modern domestic and foreign literature are given, the results of own studies on the frequency of VTEO in the postpartum period and risk factors for their development. Particular attention is paid to the prevention and treatment of VTEO in the postpartum period.
