The book sets out the basics of colposcopy - the method of early diagnosis of precancerous conditions and cancer, as well as benign diseases of the lower departments of the genital tract. The criteria for evaluating the epithelium, modern approaches to the interpretation of colposcopic paintings are reflected, the basic classifications of the pathology of the cervix, vagina and vulva from the point of view of a colposcopist, morphologist, clinician are considered. The international terminology used in recent years (in Russian and English) is presented. The issues of standardization of approaches to diagnosis and treatment in accordance with international practice, the main methods of conducting women with various pathologies and treatment technologies are highlighted.
