Cheutti and periodontal regeneration regenerative periodontological treatment is aimed at the predicted restoration of tissue supporting tooth, lost as a result of periodontitis or injury, which means to improve the quality of life of patients. In recent decades, significant progress has been achieved in the understanding of biological processes occurring in periodontal tissues, including during wound healing. This significantly influenced the improvement of methods of periodontal therapy. Today there is a persistent tendency to transition from purely conservative periodontological manipulations to comprehensive surgical regenerative interventions based on modern biological concepts, but now dentists are facing the need to choose from many materials and methods, which is a rather difficult task. Thus, the potential capabilities of a particular approach do not remove from the dentist responsibility for making the right decision in a specific clinical situation. In this book, an attempt was made to provide practicing dentists not only relevant scientific information, but also clinically significant information confirmed by strict research. The authors hope that periodontologists and other dentists interested in periodontal studies learn about the possibilities and limitations of regenerative periodontological treatment, and this will facilitate the analysis of clinical cases and the choice of the optimal treatment plan to improve the outcome of therapy.
