The development of osteoporosis is not thoroughly described. At the same time, in guidelines for hyperparathyroidism, which endocrinologists usually write, osteoporosis is considered only as one of its manifestations, and the role of vitamin D is exhausted by the inclusion of it in the regulation of calcium metabolism. In monographs, vitamin D, in turn, does not pay enough attention to osteoporosis and hyperparathyroidism.
In this regard, the idea arose to write a guide for doctors treating patients with osteoporosis, so that two key factors of its development - hyperparathyroidism and vitamin D deficiency are also represented thoroughly, as adjacent and practically important for its diagnosis and treatment questions.
The publication is intended for general practitioners, endocrinologists, gynecologists, traumatologists, orthopedists, rheumatologists, as well as for readers who are interested in this spectrum of problems
