Osteoporosis, hyperparathyroidism and vitamin D deficiency are pathological conditions closely related to each other, developing mainly due to a violation of calcium metabolism in the body. However, in guidelines devoted to osteoporosis, the effect of hyperparathyroidism and vitamin D deficiency on the development of osteoporosis is not thoroughly described. At the same time, in the guidelines for hyperparathyroidism, which are usually written by endocrinologists, osteoporosis is considered only as one of its manifestations, and the role of vitamin D is exhausted by the inclusion of it in the regulation of calcium metabolism. In monographs, vitamin D, in turn, does not pay enough attention to osteoporosis and hyperparathyroid.
In this regard, the idea arose to write a guide for doctors treating patients with osteoporosis, so that two key factors of its development - hyperparathyroidism and vitamin D deficiency - are also represented thoroughly, as adjacent and almost important for its diagnosis and treatment questions.
The publication is intended for general practitioners, endocrinologists, gynecologists, traumatologists, orthopedists, rheumatologists, as well as for readers who are interested in this spectrum of problems
