The abbreviation "Boa" translated from English means "orthopedic approach to diagnosis, taking into account the pedigree predisposition." The reduction appeared in 2001 at the first international symposium "IOVA" (veterinary Association of InNETS on Osteoarthrosis), dedicated to the problems of arthrosis in dogs, thanks to the three famous Italian orthopedists, the authors of this scientific publication. They set a goal - to develop a diagnostic technique based on the connection of two variable parameters: dog breeds and diseases of the musculoskeletal system, to which certain breeds have a greater predisposition.
Today, "BOA" is known as the original diagnostic method based on knowledge in the spread of orthopedic diseases in certain dog breeds, depending on their age and gender, which will immediately direct the most likely pathological deviations of the animal at the reception and At the same time, it will exclude, despite the similarity of clinical symptoms, those diseases that are not typical of a certain breed.
