The leadership is the first generalized publication in our country dedicated to the obstruction of the stomach and intestines in childhood. On the basis of our own experience and data, the embryology of the gastrointestinal tract, epidemiology and classification of obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract, pathophysiology of organic and systemic reactions of the child’s body in response to intestinal obstruction are considered. Particular attention is paid to radiation diagnosis of congenital and acquired forms of obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract in children. Along with traditional methods of treatment, the minimum invasive laparoscopic technologies for performing operations are described in detail. The features of surgical treatment are set out with various versions of the obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract, including its rare forms. Possible postoperative complications and methods of correction are highlighted.
