This book is the first attempt to bring together the work of a number of specialists who are world -class experts in this field. It presents a modern “state” of determination of spasticity and methods of its measurement, the main aspects of the pathophysiology of spasticity are described. The publication contains clinically significant and carefully studied information obtained from reliable sources, as well as clinical recommendations for conducting patients with spasticity. The book discusses in detail both spasticity and contracture, since these two phenomena are usually closely interconnected, and there is no single approach at present in relation to their differentiation. It is shown that with the coexistence of both disorders, patients should be modified in accordance with the individual clinical picture.
