The publication sets out the stages of evolutionary transformation of the excretory system. The process of the formation and development of the urinary system of a person is described in detail. Much attention is paid to the physiological organization of the central and peripheral parts of the autonomic nervous system that regulate the function of urinary tract. The main clinical forms of impaired function of the lower urinary tract are systematized. EAU-2010 recommendations for the study of urodynamics and lesserophysiology in patients with impaired function of lower urinary tract are given. The main neurotransmitter and hormonal mechanisms involved in the regulation of the functions of the lower urinary tract are described. The characteristic of pharmacological agents used in the treatment of neurogenic dysfunctions of the lower urinary tract is given.
