In the textbook in accordance with the program of teaching clinical neurology at a medical university (approved in 2000), the anatomical and physiological foundations of clinical neurology and the methodology for studying individual functions of the nervous system, the detection of symptoms, signs and syndromes of the damage to the nervous system, determine the location of the pathological focus in limits of the nervous system (topical diagnosis).

The methods of additional research of neurological patients are given. Separate chapters are devoted to the most common nosological forms of damage to the nervous system: vascular diseases of the brain and spinal cord, infectious, intoxication, tumor, traumatic, degenerative inherited diseases of the nervous system and muscles, paroxysmal disorders of consciousness (epilepsy, migraine), neurosis, etc.

The textbook is intended for students of medical universities and novice neurologists, it can also be useful for family doctors (district therapists)
