The leadership sets out the main issues of etiology, pathogenesis, clinical picture, differential diagnosis of myocardial infarction. Much attention is paid to the modern classification and diagnostic concept for various types of disease presented from the standpoint of evidence -based medicine based on Russian and European clinical recommendations. A special place is occupied by the first issues of terminology, the formulation of the diagnosis and statistical accounting of the disease, based on a single clinical, pathological and statistical classification of myocardial infarction, approved in 2020.
